This floor is in a new home that was severely scratched during construction. We ground the entire floor down to remove all lippage and scratches. We then polished the floor to a high shine. This shine is “not” a topical coating, but the actual tile itself. The shine went from an average of 82 to an average of 105 at a 60 ° angle using a Horiba IG-331 Gloss Checker.

This floor had a factory shine of 48. We were able to improve the shine to an 81 and still keep the floor within an acceptable level of Slip resistance according to the ADA.

Grout Cleaning and Coloring

These are before and after pictures of 5 a year old, Rose colored grout floor that had a daily coating of hairspray. The Hairspray attracted the dirt and the “stickiness” in the spray prohibited the grout from being effectively cleaned with routine maintenance. We identified the correct base for the cleaning product (alkaline or acid) and utilized our customized cleaning tool to effectively clean the grout. We sealed the grout with a neutral, topical sealer. The customer notified us a year later the grout still looked great.

Problem Solving
This is a picture of an automobile dealership floor with porous, porcelain tiles. We were called to remove 6 month-old grout haze, oil and dirt. The grout haze acted as a sponge and absorbed the contaminants to turn a light gray floor black. We cleaned the tile and grout with our specially mixed chemicals and customized floor machine. We thoroughly sealed the floor with a penetrating, solvent based, neutral sealer to help prevent future stains and ease daily maintenance.

Sealer Removal

This is a Vermont Slate floor that was covered by an unknown varnish that was at least 20 years old. The bright pieces represent a test area that we did to identify the right cleaning product. The owners were amazed at the brilliant colors hiding underneath the layers of yellowed varnish.

The above are before and after pictures of the varnish removal. We followed the thorough cleaning with a solvent based penetrating sealer.

This is a Durango stone floor that was improperly sealed by another contractor leaving dull/shiny spots throughout the entire 1500 square feet of floor. The floor was stripped to remove the sealer and resealed with a water based, penetrating sealer to a uniform look.

Sealer

This is a new Walker Zenger Code of Brown Slate floor that had an excessive amount of paint and grout from construction. We performed a strip and deep clean to return the floor to its original condition. We sealed the floor utilizing a polymer based enriching seal to bring out the natural richness of the floor. The first picture shows the contrast between the original floor and the part that was enriched.

These are before and after pictures of a 10-year-old cashmere slate floor that was never sealed. It was exposed to daily traffic in a retail setting. We performed a deep clean utilizing a customized chemical mixture and the correct amount of pressure and steam to effectively clean the slate and grout. We then sealed the floor utilizing a solvent based, enhancing sealer to bring out the vibrant colors.

We were originally called to strip this limestone floor of improperly applied sealant that left the floor with dull/shiny spots. The floor was very blah and had little color. We stripped the floor of its original sealant and applied a polymer-based, enriching sealant. The sealer brought out the deep, earth brown that was buried beneath the original neutral gray.

Floor Safety Program

These pictures represent a Quarry Tile floor and a marble threshold going into a Fast Food Restaurant bathroom. We performed a deep clean utilizing our floor safety product with our customized floor cleaner. The floor became much cleaner and safer as a result of the cleaning product.
