Polishing Marble Floors ~ Antique

POLISHING
MARBLE FLOORS:
This marble floor in Hamburg, NY is in a new home that was severely
scratched during construction. We ground the entire marble floor down
to remove all lippage and scratches. We then polished the floor to
a high shine. This shine is “not” a topical coating, but
the actual marble tile itself. The shine on the tile went from an
average of 82 to an average of 105 at a 60 ° angle using a Horiba
IG-331 Gloss Checker. |

ANTIQUE
MARBLE TABLE RESTORATION:
|
| Before
restoration of an antique marble table top in Grand Island, NY.
This picture represents an antique marble top table that was etched
by liquids containing acid. |
|
| After
restoration of an antique marble table top in Grand Island,
NY. We ground the marble top flat and polished to
reveal the natural Salt and Pepper colored stone. Each inlay
is a different type of hand carved marble and granite. |

| STATUE
RESTORATION: |
|
|
| Before
and after pictures of a 100 year old marble statue in Clarence, NY
that was covered in several layers of paint, dirt and mildew. We restored
the antique statue to make it look great, while still maintaining
the aged look of the marble. The noticeable difference on this picture
is how the bow of the dress under the hood section was barely visible
before the restoration. |
|
|
| This
picture clearly shows the rosary beds and cross that were barely visible
on the statue before the cleaning process. We were happy to have the
opportunity to strip all of the paint and contaminants off of her
to reveal the statue's natural beauty. After the restoration process,
we applied a couple of coats of sealer on her and she should be good
for another 100 years. |
| Terrazzo Floor: |
| |
|
|
This is a terrazzo floor located in a historic building on the Erie Canal in Lockport NY. The floor was covered with adhesive, linoleum and varnish. |
|
| We chemically removed all the topical coatings with no damage to the stone. We then ground and polished the stone to a high shine. |
